Until now, there hasn't been a truly effective solution against all slugs and snails. That's why we made this electrical fence ourselves. Because whether you're dealing with slugs or snails, small or large ones: this device keeps (almost) all of them out.
As soon as the slug touches 2 out of the 4 chains - one from the top and one from the bottom - it receives a small electric shock and turns around. That electric shock is so small that you - or animals or children - won't feel anything if you touch it. Unless you touch all wires with your tongue, but you probably weren't planning on doing that 🙂
This set is made for the MM-hero and MM-bamboo vegetable garden beds of 120x120 cm.

Look: for 80% of the Planty Gardeners, slugs are not such a big problem. They have to deal with a few slugs they can easily catch or lure them somewhere else.
The other 20% live in a true slug paradise. They have to deal with hundreds of slugs or more. In such an area, you can do whatever you want, but it's not really effective.

That is quite easy. The only thing you need for that is a Phillips screwdriver, which you probably have at home.

Note: your box should not be placed directly against a wall or fence, as the snails will use it to enter your box. Moreover, it will be almost impossible to attach the fence in that case.

The mission of the Makkelijke Moestuin is to solve the disadvantages of a vegetable garden so that only the advantages remain.
We're already quite successful:
- with the system and the beds, you only need a small amount of space
- everything grows well on the Makkelijke Moestuin mix: from lettuce to tomatoes
- you don't need any prior knowledge: the app helps you with every step
There is no heavy work involved and it hardly takes any time.
Actually, there was only one thing left that some of the MM-ers were annoyed by: slugs and snails. Because if you have a lot of them, 90% of the time you spend on your Makkelijke Moestuin is spent on keeping them out of your bed and catching them. And that's no fun.
Because all anti-slug remedies work either temporary or not sufficient, we made a product that does work. Because slugs really don't like an electric shock.
Our electric fence is specifically made for our current MM-hero and MM-bamboo gardenboxes. We have spent a long time making it fit exactly. This is mainly due to the exact lengths of the wire, but also the chips and loose parts. So it is not intended for other containers.
If you still purchase it for another gardenbox, it is entirely up to you to come up with a solution for that. We cannot help you with that and do not provide advice for it. Because the risk that it still won't work is still quite high.
In that case, we will not take back the electric fence. Neither do we sell loose parts: they are only made for our complete sets.
