What is a Planty Garden?
So, a little further on I tell you why it works, how to set it up, and how to maintain it. But on this page, I'll walk you through - in brief - what a Planty Garden is:

Wij hebben we maar één doel voor ogen: dat steeds meer MM-ers genieten van hun zelfgekweekte groentes en kruiden.
Dat vinden wij het leukste wat er is, en dus moeten je planten in een Makkelijke Moestuin het altijd goed doen. Oók in de jaren dat het weer niet echt meewerkt.
Inmiddels lukt dat aardig, want zelfs in een slechte zomer - zoals die van 2024 - haal je nog steeds veel oogst uit je tuin. Oók als beginner.
Dat komt omdat in een Makkelijke Moestuin alles met elkaar samenwerkt: de bakken, de mix, het zaaisysteem en de app.

A Planty Garden in a nutshell
Planty Gardening is a smart and easy way to grow vegetables. Our system produces huge yields without requiring lots of space.
The big difference between a Planty Garden and growing in a more traditional way is you use small garden boxes (120x120 cm usually). These are special vegetable garden containers that are placed on top of the soil, grass, tiles, roof, wherever.
You then fill your garden box with the perfect soil mix (the MM-Mix). This mix has everything plants need: natural, nutrient-rich ingredients that keep it airy and moist.

Everything grows in this soil mix: all your veggies and herbs and flowers. They love it. And not only that, but it's also super sustainable. You can use the same soil mix, year in and year out. Just leave it in your garden box and add some extra nutrients to it once in a while.

Onderverdeling in vakken
Na het vullen verdeel je de bakken met een raster in vierkante vakken van 30 bij 30 cm. Dat geeft je structuur en overzicht.
Elk vak beplant je met een andere groente: op de Makkelijke Moestuin manier. Daardoor krijg jij een grote variatie aan plukbaar groen en krijgen je plantjes precies de ruimte die ze nodig hebben.
In zo’n moestuinbak zijn al je groentes makkelijk te bereiken en te verzorgen.

After filling up your garden box, you divide it into sections with a handy grid. These 30x30 cm square sections organize your garden and give you a clear overview.
Every square is home to a different type of vegetable. So you have a radish patch in 1 square and a turnip patch in another. You get a lot of variety at harvest time, and each plant has all the room it needs to grow.
With a garden box like this, all your vegetables are accessible and easy to care for.
Most importantly, it's a super-efficient way to grow. You don't waste any seeds when you're sowing. You only water your plants when they need it.

You don't need any special or expensive tools: a spade, scissors, and a bucket are enough.
