Harvesting courgettes

How do you harvest courgettes? I show you in a video as I harvest our Makkelijke Moestuin Black Forest climbing courgette.

The Black Forest F1 climbing courgette has a longer stem than other varieties, so you can tie it to a trellis.

The plant loves warmth, especially in early summer. Once established, it can grow as tall as 2 metres and produce an abundance of courgettes well into October.

When should you harvest courgettes? With some good weather, from early July onwards, as soon as they are about 20 to 30 cm long. Picking early is best: the courgettes are tender and the plant produces new flowers.
