MM-Minis: grow bags designed just right
An MM-Mini is the size of one square: 30 x 30 cm and 20 cm high. It holds 20 litres of MM-Mix, exactly half a bag.
It has handy handles, loops for bamboo canes to support taller plants, and breathable fabric. That helps plants grow well, even in a small space.

Much better than an ordinary pot.
The grow bag is ideal for:
- very small gardens or balconies
- trying the Makkelijke Moestuin system, or giving it as a gift
- empty spaces next to your garden box
- spreading plants such as mint
- summer vegetables that are sensitive to cold: you can move them inside in no time
In an ordinary pot, roots keep growing in circles along the inside of the pot. Over time they struggle to take up nutrients and can eventually suffocate themselves.
The MM-Mini is made from breathable fabric. When a root reaches the fabric, it stops growing at the edge and the plant makes fresh, healthy roots instead. That is why plants grow so well in it.
Put your MM-Minis somewhere sunny. Vegetables need at least 6 hours of sunlight per day.
That can be almost anywhere: in your garden, on a balcony or on a roof terrace. We even know someone who takes one on his boat.
And the more visible it is, and the closer your little garden is to the kitchen door, the more you will harvest from it. Tuck it away somewhere, and you will quickly forget it.
Because the fabric lets water and air through, marks will appear on your MM-Minis. That cannot really be avoided: they are filled with damp MM-Mix and they live outside.
Green marks are caused by algae, especially in cold, wet weather and by water that has been standing in a water butt for a while.
Luckily, the fabric is easy to clean:
During the season, clean dirty spots with a sponge and a little gall soap.
Put harvested, empty MM-Minis somewhere dry at the end of the season, for example in the shed, to prevent heavy algae growth.
At the start of a new season, dirty MM-Minis can be washed.
Soak them for a few hours in mild soapy water with a little gall soap. For algae stains, add a generous splash of vinegar too: algae do not like vinegar. Then rinse the MM-Minis well.
If they are still dirty, they can even go in the washing machine on a cold programme, or at a maximum of 30 degrees.
