Verkooppunt Huissen

This is our sixth year of filling our raised veg beds with delicious vegetables and herbs. It started with a bamboo bed with 16 squares. For the past three years this one has been on legs, and a Hero with 8 squares has taken its place on the ground. That one has a climbing frame. We don’t like a climbing frame on a table bed because then we can’t properly harvest the tallest vegetables. 

In the meantime, we’ve also added a few air beds. These beds have 4 squares and we really like them for herbs, but also for a bed full of potatoes or strawberries. The mini’s are also favourites here. A single square that you can easily fit into a small corner of your garden and, if needed, move around easily too. In short, we’re fans. We’ve known the concept for a long time, but we never really got on with it because we didn’t know what to do. 

Now that the app is here, guiding you step by step through growing your own veg, it really is easy! Even for someone without green fingers. And we’ve eaten so much lovely food from it. Lettuce, courgette, radishes and tomatoes are the favourites here. Last year we added potatoes and strawberries too. Delicious!
