Pre-sowing with the MM-Airpots (small)
If you want to grow your own tomatoes, you first need to pre-sow them indoors.
In these pots, using an MM pre-sowing mixture it works really well. Much better than in peat or regular pots with potting soil.
The height is 6.7 cm and the average diameter is 7 cm.

In regular standard pots, roots continue to grow: in endless circles along the walls of the pot. Due to all that growth, they hardly have time to absorb nutrients.
In the Airpots, there are openings on the side. As soon as a root comes near it, it stops growing. This is called air pruning.
As a result, the plant forms new roots and develops a strong root system with many young and healthy roots.
The consequence is that your plants grow faster and stronger. Moreover, you don't have to repot them as quickly and they suffer less from being transplanted to their final location: your vegetable garden bed or an MM-mini.
The app shows you step by step how to do everything, but it comes down to this:
- fill the Airpots with moist pre-sowing mixture and press it down a bit
- make a hole in the middle of the pot in the mixture
- place a seed in it and then close it again
- put the pots in bowls or dishes and place them in a warm place
