In a Makkelijke Moestuin, you sow in 30 x 30 cm squares instead of rows, placing each plant in the right position with the right spacing.

How to prepare your Makkelijke Moestuingrond

Makkelijke Moestuingrond is the ideal soil for your raised bed with a water reservoir (read all about this new soil here).

You receive it as a complete kit, with compressed cocopeat blocks, worm castings and MM plant food.

On this page, I will show you how to turn these three components into a wonderfully light, fluffy soil mix.

What is in your kit?

Your kit contains three separate components: one or more cocopeat blocks, a bag of worm castings and a bag of plant food.

The amount of each depends on the kit you ordered:

Choose your method

There are two ways to prepare your Makkelijke Moestuingrond:

Option A

With a bucket or tub

Soak and loosen the cocopeat blocks in a bucket or tub.

Then put the cocopeat in your raised bed and mix in the compost and plant food.

Directly in your raised bed

Soak and loosen the cocopeat blocks directly in your raised bed, on top of the water reservoirs.
