Vegetables with superpowers
Dino kale needs just one 30 x 30 cm square. Its relative, curly kale, can easily take up a whole square metre.
You can harvest shoots from our peas in winter, New Zealand spinach grows in the height of summer, and winter purslane can be harvested all year round.
Pick-and-come-again vegetables
The earlier you begin picking, the longer you can continue. This applies not only to lettuce, but also to mangetout, beans, courgettes and tomatoes.
Variety keeps things interesting
This gives you a wonderfully varied harvest and helps limit diseases and pests naturally because all those plants work together.
Flowers help too: sunflowers attract bees and bumblebees, nasturtiums draw caterpillars away, and marigolds deter troublesome nematodes.
These varieties work every time
You do not need green fingers or previous experience: with the app's help, your vegetable garden cannot go wrong.
More than enough to get started
After your first growing season, you can always experiment with other vegetables. Apart from a few herb plants, however, I still grow only our own varieties.
