Early November: the latest news from Planty

Yup, winter has arrived. It's getting dark earlier in the evening, we're harvesting with a flashlight, and in some places, the temperature has already dropped below 0°C.

So, it's time to get your garden boxes ready for winter. That's 1 of the main topics today, plus a few other fun things.

Early bird discount

So, in spring it seems like everybody has the same thought: "Oh, what beautiful weather! I'll start a vegetable garden."

That means in March, we'll get swamped with orders. We're not complaining 😉 But we can't predict exactly how much of which products to have in stock. We do our best, but you never know.

So, that's why we want to spread out the orders a little. That way we can better order our stock and don't have to ship everything at once.

So this isn't your average sale, because all our stuff is new: the garden boxes, the MM-Mini grow bags, the soil mix. The seeds are fresh and can be used until early 2024.

You're also helping yourself - with the global shortages, we just don't know how things will go next spring. Even our friends at the soil company are feeling a bit gloomy 🙁 Prices will probably go up.

But hey, we'll cross that bridge when we get to it. For now, just enjoy the discount 😀

This is one of those things that gets left half-finished sometimes. I'm too busy, don't feel like going outside, the weather's bad, I need to do something else, I don't feel well...

Sound familiar? There are countless excuses to get out of it. But actually, it couldn't be easier.

So, let's talk about how to keep it easy.

Just when to do it depends on the weather. Sometimes it's already freezing in October. Sometimes, it's still so mild in January it seems like we're skipping winter altogether. But if you stick to November, you can't really go wrong.

Preview van het schrikdraad tegen slakken

Ja ja, ik weet het: het duurde veeeel langer dan we vooraf dachten. Maar die beesten zijn nu eenmaal super slim, en we willen alleen een product waarvan we zeker weten dat het werkt.

Ons eerste schrikdraad lieten we door anderen maken. Dat werkte goed maar had ook wel wat nadelen. Misschien ook wel logisch, want andere bedrijven weten ook niet precies wat voor MM-ers wel werkt en wat niet. Bovendien hebben zij meestal een deadline, en gaan wij door tot we 100% tevreden zijn.

Daarom doen we dit soort dingen nu liever zelf. Van ontwerp tot productie, van testen tot het inpakken voor verzending.

En ja, dat kost tijd. Maar: we zijn er bijna, en ik durf je al wel te beloven dat we het volgend jaar gaan verkopen. Zoals het er nu uitziet zelfs ruim voordat de eerste slakken weer tevoorschijn komen.

Actie op de community

Op de community komen ze volop voorbij: prachtige Makkelijke Moestuinen, vaak met foto’s van wat nu nog geoogst wordt.

Maar het leukste vind ik dat iedere MM-er wel iets bijzonders post. Iets waar hij of zij blij van wordt en dat met anderen wil delen. Beginners, ervaren MM-ers, het maakt niet uit.
